What is Mixed Results?
Mixed Results is a handcrafted tie-dye brand dedicated to reviving the art of vibrant, authentic tie-dye. Each piece is individually created using high-quality fibre-reactive dyes and sustainably sourced materials. Every garment is a one-of-a-kind, wearable work of art.
Who creates the designs?
All designs are created by Steve, the artist behind Mixed Results, in his Ottawa studio. Each piece is hand-tied, dyed, and finished using professional techniques to ensure long-lasting colour and unique patterns.
Materials & Sustainability
What fabrics do you use?
Our garments are made from 100% ring-spun cotton for softness, durability, and superior dye absorption. Fibre-reactive dyes bond permanently with natural fibres, producing vibrant colours that last.
Are your dyes safe and eco-friendly?
Yes! I use Procion MX fibre-reactive dyes, which:
- Create a permanent covalent bond with cotton, rayon, hemp, and silk.
- Work efficiently at room temperature, reducing energy use.
- Produce brilliant, washfast colours that won’t fade or bleed.
- Use non-toxic formulations and minimize water waste.
Can you dye synthetic fabrics?
Polyester and most synthetics do not take fibre-reactive dyes well. I focus on natural fibres for the best results.
Dyeing, Care & Troubleshooting
How should I wash my tie-dye?
- First wash: Rinse in cold water until it runs clear, then wash separately.
- Routine: Wash inside-out in cold water with similar colours.
- Drying: Line dry or tumble on low. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners.
Will my tie-dye bleed?
No. Fibre-reactive dyes bond chemically with the fabric, so the colour is permanent. You can confidently wash your tie-dye with other clothing once the first few washes are complete.
What if my tie-dye fades?
With proper care, fading is minimal. If your piece ever loses vibrancy, contact me — many items can be re-dyed or refreshed.
Shipping & Orders
How long does processing take?
Most orders are processed within 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). Some pieces are made-to-order and may take longer. Every item requires at least 24 hours to batch, set, and rinse before shipping.
What are the shipping options?
- Standard Shipping (Canada): 5–7 business days
- Express Shipping (Canada): 2–3 business days
- International Shipping: 7–21 business days (varies by destination)
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, I ship worldwide. Customers are responsible for any customs fees or import duties.
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you’ll receive an email with tracking details.
What if my package is lost or stolen?
Mixed Results is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. If tracking shows “Delivered” but you have not received it, please contact the carrier directly.
Returns, Exchanges & Refunds
What is your return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition.
How do I request a return?
Email me at steve@mixedresults.ca with your order number and reason for return. If approved, I’ll provide instructions.
Do you offer exchanges?
Yes, I accept exchanges on eligible items for sizing. Because tie-dye is handmade, exchanged items may vary slightly in design and colour.
Are there items that cannot be returned?
- Custom or personalized orders
- Sale items
- Gift cards
- Items not in original condition
How long do refunds take?
Refunds are processed within 10 business days of receiving an approved return. If you don’t see it after 15 days, contact me.
European Union customers – 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
If your order ships to the EU, you may return it within 14 days for any reason, provided it is unused, unworn, and in its original packaging.
