Materials & Sustainability
Sustainability at Mixed Results
At Mixed Results, sustainability isn’t a buzzword — it’s built into how every piece is made.
From the materials I choose to the way each garment is dyed, the goal is simple: create something that lasts, reduces waste, and gives people a reason to hold onto what they wear.
Low-Impact Dyeing, Built to Last
I use professional fibre reactive dyes (Procion MX), designed specifically for natural fibres like cotton.
These dyes don’t sit on the surface — they form a permanent bond with the fabric.
That means:
- Colours stay vibrant over time
- Minimal fading when properly cared for
- Less need to replace garments
The dyeing process happens at room temperature, reducing energy use while still producing bold, high-quality results.
Upcycling: Giving Old Pieces New Life
Not every great garment needs to start new.
I work with pre-loved clothing, transforming it through dye into something completely unique. This process:
- Keeps usable textiles out of landfill
- Extends the life of quality materials
- Creates one-of-a-kind pieces with real character
Some of the most interesting results come from what already exists.
Small Batch, Slow Fashion
Everything is dyed by hand in small batches — no mass production, no shortcuts.
This approach:
- Reduces overproduction and waste
- Prioritizes quality over quantity
- Ensures each piece is made with intention
Every garment is handled individually from start to finish.
Why It Matters
Fast fashion is built to be replaced.
Mixed Results is built to be kept.
By focusing on durability, upcycling, and thoughtful production, each piece is designed to stay in your rotation — not end up discarded after a few wears.
Wear Something That Lasts
Choosing Mixed Results means choosing:
- Clothing with a longer life
- Materials that are used more responsibly
- A process that values craft over volume
It’s a small shift — but it adds up.
